As expressions, the female figure or nude in Al Mazrouei’s body of work can be linked to the loss of his mother during childbirth. For the artist, the mother (or woman) is an embodiment of universal phenomena, such as femininity - or what Carl Jung described as the Animus. Having lost that to another unexplainable phenomena that is death, Al Mazrouei’s exploration of the subjects is continuous.Provenance
